I am sharing this bundle with you all because I have been blessed by some of the resources within it. We have used some (many are brand new), but I want to tell you specifically about those that relate to Thanksgiving. So often, once the orange and black comes down, our collective attention turns to Christmas. I wish the commercial spotlight shone a bit brighter on Thanksgiving. For our family, this is the greatest holiday of the year.
We try to really focus on thankfulness. We don’t take this time off from school work, but make sure to focus our work on the holiday themes. I love the pages in the November Planning Pack for Children. There are traditional planning pages (and goals and prayer lists) with a seasonal theme, but my favorite pages are those I’ve not found in any other printable. The beginnings of a letter for your children to finish with their gratitude to those special people in your lives — family members or other loved ones. There is a page to plan who you want to send them to as well. Recipe cards, suggested ways to help get ready for the big day and a place to list ways to be a blessing round out this fun pack made for your children. I love that I can print just the pages I need — and as many as I need for my family.
Like many of you, the meal with family is what we plan the most for. We also do other entertaining this time of year, so I’m always looking for something special to make. I love the recipes this time of year — trying new ones, re-inviting old favorites and enjoying those only made for this meal. With more than 60 recipes in the “Weekend Potluck Fall Favorites” e-book from Tabitha Philen and Friends, you will find something for nearly every day of the holiday season. In addition to the yummy soups we love this time of year, I am looking forward to yummy breakfasts. Who wouldn’t want to break the monotony of plain oatmeal with Pumpkin Pie Baked Oatmeal. How about something to “WOW!” your family at the big meal? The Updated Green Bean Casserole has just enough of the traditional favorite but with a twist to please everyone. There are also appetizer and dessert recipes, too.
Those are just two of the things that I have used. There are other great “thankful” resources, too – like “My Book of Thanks. . .”, “Be Thankful. . .” and the audio “Homeschooling & the Holidays Giving Thanks” from the Ultimate Homeschool Radio Network. That’s not even touching on the Christmas resources, the Pearl Harbor note booking pages, and one my favorite new obsessions activities I found this summer – Sensory Bins. The e-book included in this bundle is a great resource whether you are unfamiliar with them or a long-time fan.
The holidays are quickly approaching and with many ways to celebrate between October and December, you might start feeling a little stressed and uninterested.
