Do you feel as though your home is just causing you stress? At the end of the day, it doesn’t have to be this way and there are things that you can do to try and turn things around. If you need some help and advice, then take a look below.
Ditch What Annoys You
Every few months, you need to look over everything that is sitting around your home. If it doesn’t serve a purpose or if it doesn’t make you feel good, then now would be the time for you to let it go. Keeping things around because of sheer guilt won’t be doing you any favors. It may be that you have a Pilates book that you haven’t used in a while, but fully intend to, or that you have a handmade knitted blanket that just isn’t your color. Either way, things like this can bring on a lot of stress for you, and the last thing that you want is to have them constantly surrounding you. Get rid of them now to save yourself from stress in the future.
Use a Drop Zone
Think about it, how many times in the day do you end up losing your keys? If the answer is quite a lot, then you need to designate a bowl or even a small tray as a drop zone. Here you can put your glasses, your wallet, or even your phone. This makes it easier than ever for you to grab it whenever you need it, not to mention that you can place it conveniently close to the door as well.
Everyone has their own spot, everything has its place. It’s easier to keep things in their right place if they are returned to this space as soon as possible. When you set something down in the family room because your child is calling you to the bathroom, you might remember to come and retrieve it and put it up. Or it might never make its way to the mud room where your bag for market day sits ready.

Delegate Chores
Are there certain household chores that everyone seems to hate? At the end of the day, nobody can relax if there are tons of things to do. If you can, you need to make sure that you are distributing your chores amongst your family members so you can rotate them. This will make it easier, so nobody ends up feeling stuck with the same task over and over again. If you can, you need to try and ask a housekeeper or cleaner to stop by once every month too. This will save you from having to do the deep cleaning jobs that swallow so much of your time. Keeping bugs out of your home is also important, especially when the weather is hot as this will only annoy you further. Silence is Golden
If you have a TV or even a radio that is always on in the background, then you may never be able to enjoy the peace and quiet. Ideally, you have to make sure that there are times in the day when you don’t have any noise in the house whatsoever. If you can do this, you may find it easier to turn your home into the meditative space you are looking for. It may be that you turn off the television during dinner time, or that you do it right before bed.
