Now he’s gotten mixed up in the wrong line of business and he’s running from people who would prefer him dead.
But then he meets a woman named Quinn. She claims to see things that others don’t and tells him that he’s “chosen.” Oddly enough, his buddy in Iraq kept telling him the same thing. Before Dylan Runs Ahead can figure out what that really means, though, he’s going to have to stop and face the demons–both literal and figurative–that he’s been running from.
From the above description, you might be interested in reading the book. I sure was. The story started slow and a little disjointed, introducing the characters. I kept reading, waiting for further plot development, character development, something. Perhaps the book is too quickly paced; things are skimmed over, or left out. Maybe, it tries to be too many things at once. It just doesn’t work.
I really wanted to like this book; I tried. I don’t recommend this book. I will be giving the author another chance, should I see more by him. It’s like smelling the brownies baking in the kitchen, anticipating their deliciousness. But then you are cheated out of enjoying the treat because they burned and were thrown out. It almost could have been something good…almost.
