Learn About Persecuted Christians with Asia: Its People and History by Bonnie Rose Hudson {Giveaway and Review}

Are you looking for a way to introduce your children to people on the other side of the world? To share with them about persecuted Christians in a way that they can understand? Asia:Its People and History by Bonnie Rose Hudson is an excellent book to use.  Asia is home to nearly three-fifths of the world’s population and is known to be harsh to Christians living in the many countries there.

Within the pages, you will read about children living in Laos, Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Iran and Vietnam.  Spending 2-4 weeks on each country (as laid out in the table of contents), it will take 16 weeks to complete this journey throughout Asia.  In addition to the engaging stories (keep tissues handy , Mama!), there are activities such as discussions of the stories, games, word searches, and more.  Through these activities, you and your children will learn more about the country and the people living there – all from a Biblical worldview.

Not only will you be learning about these people, you will be encouraged to pray for them.  Too often we think of prayer as a last resort.  While reading, I was reminded that praying is the best thing that can be done.  This is so encouraging to our children who want to help but feel they are too small to make a difference.

Even though the message is serious and the stories often moved me to tears, this is very fun to read and do with my children.  We clicked through the included links to the Kids of Courage site (from Voice of the Martyrs) and downloaded the related Bold Believers Activity Books.  You can use Asia: Its People and History as a springboard for deeper studies or projects, homeschool history or geography, to add in with missionary studies, with children in a church class or co-op setting.  It is very versatile.

Asia:Its People and History by Bonnie Rose Hudson is available as either an e-book or in print.  The print version will be available soon through Amazon.  You can find the e-book (in many formats-epub, mobi, pdf) at Amazon, Smashwords, and The Old Schoolhouse.  Through March 15th you can save 25% with PROMO CODE: 02asia14! at TOS.  Buying a copy for your Kindle and want to print the activities?  You can find all of them from the book plus some bonus content at WriteBonnieRose.com  Be sure to subscribe while you’re there — you’ll enjoy the upcoming subscriber-only freebies related to Asia: Its People and History.
