I was very excited to have the opportunity to read Amy Bayliss’s Pursuit of Proverbs 31 (available in Kindle for $4.99). While I was reading, I found myself nodding in agreement. The take on Proverbs 31 that Amy has is not what is typically taught. She is not the model of perfection we all fail to reach. The Proverbs 31 is something to strive for, but not beat yourself up over. That is such a relief to read and know that someone else has been led to the same realization. It’s not just me and my crazy ideas. This confirms to me where the Lord has led me.
Throughout the book, Amy tackles each facet of the elusive perfect women and shows practical ways in which we can become more like her. Often these ideas and tips are things already being done by many of us. Those feelings of not measuring up? They melt away while reading Pursuit of Proverbs 31. That is not saying that Amy’s take is un-Biblical. On the contrary, she has done much study, finding these truths in Scripture. Don’t just take her word for it, though. She directs how to do a proper Bible study of your own. The title could even be “Pursuit of the Lord” (and finding His plans for you). I was so encouraged in Amy’s book.
Not sure who Amy is? Here is her bio in her words:
